Salt water

The article claims this is the world's only salt water lake that has crocodiles.

But the article for the nearby Saumatre_Lagoon (they are part of the same chain of lakes on Hispaniola also says it is salt water, and support crocodiles. Also, Lake Turkana is a salt water lake in Africa known for its large population of Nile Crocodiles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aapold (talk • contribs) 08:55, October 9, 2006

Measurements

The article says: 9-12 miles wide (15-20 km). With Google Earth it is easy to measure, about 12 km (longest)width and 33 km (longest) length (about 7 x 20 miles). Photo december 2006. Where did I go wrong? Salix2 (talk) 23:02, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Geology

The geology section is poor as the Cul-de-Sac depression is no rift valley. It is a type of basin known as a "ramp basin", an area caught between two opposite facing thrust ramps, so very much a result of shortening rather than rifting (extension). Also the lake is not directly linked to movement on the Enriquillo-Plantain Garden fault zone. I will attempt to rewrite it is using particularly this paper, which explains what is going on geologically. Mikenorton (talk) 18:54, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
