Spelling of Name

[edit]

Should the whole article actually be entitled Léonide Massine and have the Russian spelling redirected?

Jmcnally 04:07, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think so. It's as Massine that most people (that know of him) would know of him. SteveCrook 10:43, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Why hasn't this been done?--Silverscreen 02:54, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It has now -- SteveCrook 04:23, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Aw-right! It was a bit weird. Great dancer, deserves to have his name spelled as was known to his audience.--Silverscreen 04:33, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Someone should add the spelling of his name in Cyrillic. I don't, unfortunately, know how to do this.--BenA 19:26, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo

[edit]

Previously the text "Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo" had linked to the entry for Ballet de Monte Carlo. These are not the same company (as the Ballet de Monte Carlo entry makes clear). Although there is not currently an entry for Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, there should be. One way or another, it makes no sense to link to Ballet de Monte Carlo.--BenA 19:21, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Place of death

[edit]

The article mentions Cologne as his place of death, the German and French version of the article mentions Borken/Germany. What I know for sure is that Borken was the place, where he lived in his last 20 (or more) years. What is right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.79.63.77 (talk) 06:48, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe some sources give the place of death as Cologne because that's the nearest big town that they've heard of. Or maybe he was taken to hospital there and died there. It needs more research -- SteveCrook (talk) 07:25, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
