960s - c.1300 AD - Dukedom of Poland

[edit]

From its foundation as dukedom in the 960s by Mieszko I accepting ducal title and lien as a fief of the Holy Roman Empire the Dukedom of Poland was ruled by dukes for nearly 340 years till about 1300 AD (exept for a maximum of 12 years when short-term kings ruled the Kingdom/Dukedom of Poland, see Dukedom of Poland, discussion: Dukedom or Kingdom of Poland? In literature it is at times referred to as Kingdom of Poland, even though it was the Dukedom of Poland and only became the Kingdom of Poland by about 1300 AD. Focus

[edit]

This article should not be confused for a historical article. This article should describe the organization and structure of the former state, as - for example - Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth does. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:48, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not merge

[edit]

There is sufficient material on all periods of Poland to have seperate articles. There is no reason to merge any of them.John Pack Lambert (talk) 02:58, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Kingdom of Poland (1025–1385)

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Kingdom of Poland (1025–1385)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

This is not a "History of" article

[edit]

Last year an anon made this into a WP:POVFORK of History of Poland during the Piast dynasty. This is a higher level article, and like Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth it should discuss the administrative division, economy, politics, etc.
