Inappropriate and misleading terminology[edit]

This may be nitpicking, but I noticed that the first part of the paragraph includes the following:

Foster and members of Lords of Chaos are said to have murdered Riverdale High School band teacher Mark Schwebes.

I find this unacceptable in that it implies in some way that the trial was dubious or that there was some sort of possibility that Foster did not murder this poor man. As a matter of fact, the Foster Trial was ironclad and absolutely laden down with incriminating evidence as well as multiple confessions and testimonials from other gang members. With this in mind, I would like to have the above sentence changed to simply "murdered" or something else that respects the true circumstances of the affair and properly represents the suffering of Schwebe's friends and family. Charges are mildly incorrect in the bio-box. He had four charges (across 2 trials); "Attempted Murder", strictly speaking was not one of them. The formal charges are: 1. Arson of Structure (The Coca-Cola building. offense date 19 Apr 1996, convicted 5 Feb 1999), 2. Robbery w/Firearm or Deadly Weapon (offense date 26 Apr 1996, conv. 5 Feb 1999), 3. 1st Degree Murder: Premeditated or Attempted (Schweebes, FL does not differentiate attempts from sucesses. Offense date 30 Apr 1996, conv date 17 June 1998). After the Murder conviction he had supervised release pending sentencing. During that time he continued to offend, though he was more subtle about it. He did manage to pick up an additional Robbery w/Firearm or Deadly Weapon charge from 3 May 1996 and was convicted on 5 Feb 1999 with charges 1 and 2, above.

He was also accused of witness tampering in relation to his trials, but was not formally charged as such. His mother was charged with Tampering (or an equivalent) on his behalf and was ultimately incarcerated as a result. I would like to see the charges in the bio box adjusted to accurately reflect the formal charges.

This case is personal for me as I was in my Junior Year at Ft Myers High School when LoC ran rampant. I still remember being under curfew and Martial Law and seeing the still smoking remains of the Coke building as I drove to school that morning. The old building is gone now, but the smoldering emotions of that time have left an indelible mark on anyone who was unlucky enough to have to live through it. Fair use rationale for Image:Kevin foster.jpg[edit]

Image:Kevin foster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Appeal 2011[edit]

He's appealing the Death Sentence on Grounds of Mental Defect; I think the allegation is that Bi-polar (or some such) falls under the "can't execute the mentally impaired" rule

I'd edit in, but I have a full plate just now. Note that this is a Currently Occurring development in Foster's sentencing. VulpineLady (talk) 12:43, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem with News-Press links is that they all become non-functional within a month because the NP are cheap bastards that archive everything behind a pay wall. Rather than rush to put this in and have to change it, would it hurt that much to just wait until something gets decided? Remember, Wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS, so we don't have to be up to the minute. I'd be more inclined to wait and do it once (and correctly). Niteshift36 (talk) 12:48, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
