Sure - I can do that. I was actually unsure of how this would happen. I know how to put the text into the Walt Whitman article, but then what is the next step? (As, how does the Jessie Louisa Whitman page go away?) DaffodilOcean (talk) 15:56, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
DaffodilOcean I think you should read the Walt Whitman biography first, and decide where the content on Jessie Louisa Whitman might be best incorporated. Not all of the content from this page should probably be included as Walt's page as it would be WP:UNDUE weight, but a sentence or two (or perhaps a quote by Jessie about her uncle?) would be fine. You can WP:BEBOLD and do it yourself, or talk about it first at Talk:Walt Whitman if you want to enlist others input. There is a step by step process on how to merge at WP:PROMERGE which talks about the practical steps of doing a merge and turning a page into a redirect. If you have any questions feel free to ping me.4meter4 (talk) 16:30, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I added two sentences to the Whitman page, it seemed most appropriate in the Legacy and influence section. I hope I followed the directions correctly. As this was the first time I have done this, and I am open to comments about errors. DaffodilOcean (talk) 06:31, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
