Burma Cyclone[edit]

Is the extensive criticism of the Burmese government really relevant in context? I could see it if there was a section dedicated to criticisms of using the plant for fuel, but as it stands the Burma quote is longer than the article itself. Bagheera (talk) 15:15, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find the request on the linked page. I've removed the food and drink tag because the oil is for fuel purposes only. --Ronz (talk) 16:36, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Competition with food crops" needs references[edit]

The Competition with food crops section has a lot of bold, and often emotional claims, but no references. Could someone please figure out where these claims came from and cite them? I'd like to think they are valid and not just anti-biofuel propaganda. Or else should we just delete this dubious section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.170.125.54 (talk) 21:10, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They appear valid, but it's hard to find good sources amidst all the bad. The External links section contains articles that refer to such sources, and a couple of the links may meet WP:RS themselves. --Ronz (talk) 23:22, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An answer to water usage of Jatropha: http://citg.tudelft.nl/fileadmin/Faculteit/CiTG/Over_de_faculteit/Afdelingen/Afdeling_watermanagement/Secties/waterhuishouding/Leerstoelen/Hydrologie/Education/MSc/Past/doc/Blesgraaf2009.pdf. Conclusion is that Jatropha is rather efficient in its water usage. About the water usage as reported by Friends of Earh etc. their source was a single indian report which did mixup the figures of different plots. The article has been rebuted by reports from Wageningen {Jongschaap} — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.107.241.14 (talk) 13:40, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Fatty acid composition"[edit]

Information on the fatty acid composition is needed. The article on Castor oil lists the production of turkish red oil as one use, then out of a sudden says that Jatropha oil is used for this purpose (which might be the case if their triglycerides contain similar fatty acids). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.227.15.253 (talk) 08:56, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
