Default tags for joint biographies

I tried to put a second default sort tag with "Purbeck, Jane" as the subject on the joint biography article Elizabeth Purbeck and Jane Purbeck but got an error message saying that the new tag had overridden the existing tag ("Purbeck, Elizabeth"). I removed the new tag, but now the article only has a tag for one of its two subjects. Is there a way to tag for both, as suggested in the template at the top of this redirect page? — scribblingwoman 15:11, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
