born 1891?

[edit]

His DOB seems doubtful to me, since he would have been 16 when he signed for Lochgelly (and immeidatley played in the first team and was loaned to other clubs), 17 when he signed for Rangers and 19 at most when he stopped playing at Dumbarton. If such a precocious teenage talent, you'd have thought more would have been heard about him, as well as him stopping playing so early with that early success (it looks like he barely played, but it's a decent amount of appearances within a 2-year period, although spread across several teams). But with such a common name, I have nothing else to go on at present. Crowsus (talk) 06:25, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If he was born in 1891 then he woudl have been 27 and NOT 17 when he signed for Rangers. Still it appears to be questionable as would mean he was a very late starter in the seniors, which even for that era was a rarity. Joebloggscity (talk) 09:33, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
