The result of the move request was: Moved as proposed. The alternative proposal to move James Anderson (cricketer) is not moved, there isn't consensus for that, and should be proposed as a separate RM on his own page if desired. (Personally I would oppose such an RM, he is far and away the most prominent cricketer of this name, and PARTIALDAB can always be overridden in such circumstances).  — Amakuru (talk) 17:48, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

James Anderson (Queensland cricketer)James Anderson (Australian cricketer) – We usually disambiguate by nationality rather than the team they played for, unless there are multiple people with the same name and nationality, which isn't the case here, as James Anderson is English not Australian, and there don't look to be any other notable Australian cricketers with this name. • I oppose the second move. James Anderson (cricketer) is a clear primary topic for people searching for a cricketer of that name- no comparison between an international cricketer with over 200 international matches and someone who played a few notable games. As already stated, "James Anderson (cricketer)" is incomplete disambiguation. If the English cricketer had been selected as the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, the main title header of his entry would have been "James Anderson" and the header of the dab page would have been "James Anderson (disambiguation)". However, since there are 60 men named "James Anderson" listed upon the James Anderson (disambiguation) page, the English cricketer's renown cannot be greater than the combined notability of the remaining 59 men. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 20:29, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
