Guiseley in senior career?

[edit]

Hi all, something that has been semi-bugging me for a while: should Guiseley be listed in the 'Senior Career' section of the infobox, seeing as he played a competitive first team game for them? Obviously the stats would still be 0 (0) as it wasn't a league game, but it seems strange to me that it isn't listed in his infobox, but if you scroll down to his Career Statistics, Guiseley are listed.

I suppose the follow-up question would be, should Barnsley stay in the 'Youth career' section?

I'm trying to think of comparable players, although I'm struggling! Perhaps Aaron Ramsdale, who played a couple of cup games in his first spell at Sheffield United

Anyway, let me know what people think, I appreciate it isn't the most important question in the world! Nonleagueapps (talk) 18:45, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The most recent discussion of this issue appears to be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_140#Query_on_'Youth_Career'_in_infoboxes:_players_that_have_made_a_senior_debut_and_'returned'_to_youth_football, although no consensus was reached as to whether Barnsley should stay in the 'Youth career'. A general consensus was that certain players (e.g. Viljami Sinisalo) could be exceptions to any consensus, and I definitely feel Jacob Brown falls into that category - making one appearance for a non-league team in a minor competition.
With that in mind, I will add Guiseley 0 (0) to Brown's senior career, but leave Barnsley as a youth team. Nonleagueapps (talk) 12:53, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
