Fair use rationale for Image:Incoming.jpg[edit]

Image:Incoming.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:31, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership rights[edit]

With Rage closed, and Interplay (the publisher of this title) essentially out of business and stripped of all their intellectual properties, who now owns the rights to this title / franchise? Any ideas?

  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Nothing less than I would expect from you UnaLaguna! I do have a few concerns, however, before I can pass this for GA:

  1. Incoming.jpg needs a source in its summary ie. where did you get it from? Scanned it yourself? Got it from a certain website?  Done
  2. All one-two sentence paragraphs must be either expanded or merged with the surrounding paragraphs, as they cannot stand alone. In addition, if you could add or migrate a sentence, even a short one, to the second paragraph in the lead, that would help too.  Done The second paragraph in the lead is still a bit short, but still okay?
  3. The first IGN quote is somewhat large; could it be summarized and placed in the footnotes perhaps? (Critical reception)  Done Shortened the length of the quote; the other details weren't completely necessary.

To allow for these changes to be made, I will put the article on hold for a period of up to seven days, after which it may be failed without further notice. Thank you for your work thus far. Cheers, CP 05:20, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe I had addressed these issues. Una LagunaTalk 07:23, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Everything looks good, so I will be passing the article for Good Article status! Congratulations, and thank you for your hard work. Cheers, CP 16:25, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Full title[edit]

MobyGames lists this game as being Incoming: The Final Conflict. Should the article be moved? SharkD (talk) 08:15, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't, as no reference to "The Final Conflict" is made in the game's manual or the game itself. Una LagunaTalk 10:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of mention of Campaign Tactics information from Gameplay section[edit]

Can anyone provide a good reason to remove this information? Campaign Tactics and the campaign map definitely exist - I know this because it's A) mentioned in the manual, which is the source used for this piece of information and B) I've played the Campaign Tactics myself and cannot have played something which doesn't exist. Una LagunaTalk 21:00, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I own Incoming, and there is certainly, 100% no campaign tactics in it at all. I own it for both the PC and the Dreamcast, and there never was any "Campaign Tactics" in it. It's not even mentioned in the manual. Considering I bought these copies at gaming stores, there's no way that they're "special" in any way (i.e. pirated, etc.).
I wonder if this discrepancy is a result of regional differences, but I highly doubt that. So far as I'm concerned, there is no campaign tactics - very odd. 74.75.59.121 (talk) 21:32, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Very odd indeed. I also own a legit copy of Incoming on PC (in English), and the manual has several pages discussing campaign tactics (pages 11, 23, 24, 25). There are not many sources on the Internet which discuss the game, though this suggests that at least some versions of the Dreamcast game also had this game mode. Until we can find a reliable source which mentions this, I feel the best course of action is to keep the text in the article. Una LagunaTalk 06:01, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll look around and see if I can find a reliable source of some sort. 74.75.59.121 (talk) 15:05, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This youtube video shows the 'campaign tactics' menu option ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBEGvEz8H3Y ), which is odd because neither campaign nor campaign tactics were in the version that I owned. I had a version that came with an Orchid 3dfx Voodoo2. I remember thinking it was odd in that the game I had didn't have a bunch of features that games press at the time talked about. I wondered if the bundled version of the game was a cut-down version.

Some poking around on the internet has unearthed this: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups=#!topic/3dfx.products.voodoo2/KypZQdU69yU

There seems to have been an bundled OEM version (helpfully described as the 'full OEM version' as a marketing ploy) and the retail version, with the proper campaign mode. 92.234.0.36 (talk) 22:28, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
