Imlek (company)Imlek – There is nothing else called Imlek in English Wikipedia, so the disambiguation part "(company)" is not needed. Imlek already redirects here. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:54, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's policy on article titles.
  • Oppose a Wikipedia search shows the predominance of the previous use of "Imlek" [1] before it was changed to point to this company earlier this year. A google search [2] also does not show that the company is more prominent than the Indonesian celebration. Google Images [3] only comes up with the Indonesian version of Chinese New Years. Therefore, the previous redirect should be restored. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 04:53, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: The company is not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, according to quick google searches. The company does not form the majority of entries using the term. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 10:36, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose 300 for Imlek "new year", however a dab may be a good idea. Not sure if the Indonesian New Year still meets WP:PRIMARYTOPIC as this is Serbia's largest dairy company. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:04, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:
  • Comment Imlek (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) only started pointing here earlier this year. For 3 years, it pointed at a different topic all together. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 04:40, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment I have WP:BOLDly disambiguated the target page pending the resolution of this. Either it should point to the Chinese New Years article, or this article should replace it, but in the meanwhile, a disambiguation page should sit there until it's decided. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 04:55, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Comment: OK. I have no problem with this arrangement with Imlek being a disambiguation page. I support that. I just thought that a situation where Imlek was redirecting to this article was odd. Vanjagenije (talk) 18:01, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • If Imlek redirects to Chinese New Year, its use in that context should at least be mentioned there. Peter James (talk) 19:58, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
