GA Review[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:Hurricane Bud (2006)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Once again, this article is well-written and is enjoyable to read. A few things came up, but nothing major:

  1. The lead contains a split infinitive: "to rapidly intensify." I would normally correct this to "to intensify rapidly", but I wanted to make sure that it would still use the term correctly.
  2. In the the second paragraph of "Meteoroligcal history", a word seems to be missing after "though" in "though was slightly restricted to the east".
  3. I can follow most of the article from a non-weatherguy perspective, but I got a little lost in "...which was enveloped within by a complete ring of cold cloud tops. A small cyclone, the wind field contracted somewhat at around the same time."
  4. The wikilink to Bud in the "Impact" section doesn't seem helpful, as it links to an article about plant buds.
  5. I don't understand the last two sentences of the "Impact" section. Could they be rephrased to make them a little more user-friendly?
  6. In the references section, "National Hurricane Center" should be wikilinked on its first use, not its last.

I will place the nomination on hold to give you a chance to address or discuss these concerns. Questions and comments can be left here, as I've got the page on my watchlist. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 20:58, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed points #2 and #4, and changed the first one to what you suggested. Not sure if it takes away from the term; I'll leave it to more of a hurricane guru, feel free to switch back. Thanks, JamieS93 21:34, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I got everything else. Thanks for the help, Jamie. :-) –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 21:43, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for the quick reply. The article now meets all GA criteria, so I am promoting it. Congratulations! GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:11, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

3rd named storm?[edit]

1st paragraph says Bud was the 3rd named storm of the season. How is that? Is Tropical Depression Two-E being counted as the 2nd? --LarryJeff (talk) 19:15, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

It was a C3, but it didn't do anything, and its MH wasn't particularly interesting. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:18, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Meh, the season article is long enough as it is. Why make it longer? YE Pacific Hurricane 16:01, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Bud's section is short though. It wouldn't add all that much. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:05, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wait this article still exists? I saw it on my watchlist this morning, which wasn't pleasant to see. YE Pacific Hurricane 17:32, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I merged the content, so the article can be "merged" (Delisted as GA and redirect to season article). ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:59, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. YE Pacific Hurricane 09:56, 27 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
