User:Doc James removed the bulk of the article saying it needed better, inline refs. From what I could see, the original contributor had used a form of manual citation style that, while a bit crazy to maintain, is apparently an allowed citation style.
A current group of editors apparently would be allowed to establish a new consensus on the citation style, assuming there was no long an active advocate for maintaining the old style, and change things over. But it would be improper to delete a batch of material because we don't like the citation style.
I'm all for fighting the good fight and the material in this article seems highly suspect to me, but I think we have to accept or reject the matter on its merits rather than on the citation style that was used. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 09:16, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
