Distilled in Kentucky?

[edit]

Any references to support the assertion that HW's products are made in Kentucky? I was under the impression that they, like Templeton, are bought whiskey (at least their rye) from LDI in Lawrenceburg, IN.Josh (talk) 14:01, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the statement that it was distilled in Kentucky since most sources suggest an "undisclosed" location. There is even speculation that it comes from Canada. I didn't find any references that said it came from Lawrenceburg Distillers. Where did you get that impression? LDI does produce a 95% rye, so it's a good guess. I recall reading it on SB.com a while back, let me do some digging and see what I can come up withJosh (talk) 15:46, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
18 months later I've seen a source that says you're correct - they are buying from LDI. It can be viewed here. GreenGlass(talk) 05:18, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
