This is, by far, the primary use. Should point to the article. If you dispute that, please go to talk:Greece, where the issue has been voted on in the past. Regards, sys < in 09:07, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is not, and I don't see how you can "vote on" a factual question, it's more of a matter for research/verification than "voting". If anything, the primary meaning is Ancient Greece, not the modern Democratic Republic. But this is easy to verify. It goes without saying, of course, that we are discussing English usage of "Hellas", and not the Greek name itself. It turns out, objectively, I would argue, that "Hellas" is almost never, if ever, used for (modern) Greece in English, and very rarely of ancient Greece.

From Google books, of the ten first results, three are editions of Shelley's poem (which may very well be the "primary meaning" of the term in English now), a few 19th century references to ancient Greece, English and German, one reference to "Ottoman Hellas in northern Greece" (i.e the former Hellas (theme) under Ottoman rule, not "Greece" as a whole), two 19th-century German works called Hellas, a literary journal with the title Hellas, and one volume of conference proceedings on knot-theory called "Knots in Hellas '98" -- this latter is probably the only context in which "Hellas" is ever used for "Greece" now, i.e. "we need a good title for our volume on the knot theory workshop in Delphi -- I know, let's call it, mock-archaizingly, 'Knots in Hellas'!".

A redirect to Ancient Greece might work, or to Name of Greece, but per Wikipedia disambiguation guidelines, I do not think there is actually a "primary meaning", as the term has lots of meanings in the context of ancient Greece, but not primarily Ancient Greece as a whole. --dab (𒁳) 12:54, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
