Bag of falsehoods and misrepresentations[edit]

This GNIS mess article is utter tripe.

  • It's a creek, not a "community".
  • Dryhill was never on Hell-for-Certain Creek and is certainly not the same thing as it. It was on Bull Creek. Ironically, the content isn't even supported by the source, which is a GNIS regurgitator but at least puts the pin on the mouth of Bull Creek.
  • The church is on the creek. Even the content says this.
  • The entire Eastern Kentucky Coalfield has been mined for coal.
  • The "BreweryDB" source has no "Hell for Certain" listed, and does not support the content. The WWW site disclaims the accuracy of the page in any event, and has an "Is this your brewery?" invitation on the page.
  • The externally linked KGS publication outright says "takes its name from Hell For Certain Creek".
  • Earlier versions of the article are even worse with the "Hell-Fer-Sartin" nonsense, which is eye dialect and yet another falsehood. It's from the title of a story collection, for one thing.

I should mention the icing on the cake:

  • Clearly no-one has checked the coördinates against a map. They are not even on Hell-For-Certain Creek.
