Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Hayden Schilling meets the notability requirement, having won a national award for undergraduate teaching. --Katherine.Holt (talk) 13:45, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Speedy declined. I'll leave my esteemed colleagues @MelanieN: and @Carl Henderson: to supply the seafood. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:46, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's not the award that makes him notable - it's the fact that he holds a named professorship. That's an automatic "keep" per WP:ACADEMIC. I don't know if I'll have the time to work on this right now, though; I am busy rescuing the Marilyn Quayle article from the dreadful state in which I found it. --MelanieN (talk) 15:20, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
One thing I am having trouble finding: who issues that award? We should identify the source of the award, and provide a link to their announcement or website. All we have right now is a citation by a congressman, who is obviously just reading what was given to him. --MelanieN (talk) 15:43, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The award for Professor Schilling can be found on the institutional website here, given by the Carnegie Foundation for The Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. I'll include it as a reference. --ForgottenHistory (talk) 16:02, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
