Basketball definition[edit]

The page states that the term is used in basketball as "the length of time a player hangs onto the rim after a slam dunk". I personally have never heard of that definition before, but even if it is ever used in that sense, it would be much less common than the lenght of time a player stays in the air when leaping, which is similar to the definition in football. See:

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hang_time
http://www.wnba.com/about_us/glossary.html

I suggest the latter definition is provided instead, or include both if applicable. - ChaChaFut 22:47, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought "hang time" referred to the time the player appears to hang motionless in the air at the top of the jump, but I agree that the reference to hanging onto the rim is completely wrong.
