This is a précis of Simon Baddeley’s (1999) “The Founding of Handsworth Park 1882-1898” Birmingham, University of Birmingham ISBN 0704485095. More information with photos can be viewed on "Digital Handsworth" based at Soho House <http://www.digitalhandsworth.org.uk>. A detailed history of the park with maps and illustrations was prepared by Dr Hilary Taylor ([email protected] Hilary Taylor Landscape Associates of Nottingham) to support the city council’s successful lottery bid.
