Hello there! I'll be reviewing the article, I should have it completed within the next 72 hours. Cheers! Giacobbe talk 19:15, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

  • "Getaway Car" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for her sixth studio album, Reputation (2017)."
  • "Getaway Car" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on September 7, 2018 through Big Machine as the seventh and final single from her sixth studio album, Reputation (2017). The song was sent exclusively to Australian and New Zealand radio stations to support the Australian portion of Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour."
  • It is not the album's overall seventh single, because of its limited release to Oceania only. I revised the lead a bit, (talk) 04:02, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The lyrics are about Swift's escape from a relationship by falling into another romance"
  • "Lyrically, the song describes Swift's efforts to run away from a relationship and be with someone else, only to realize her new relationship will also end."
  •  Done

Background[edit]

  • Not sure if you're able to find any background info, but it would help flesh out the article.
  • Should I include information on the album's making (though I think it won't fit in with WP:NSONGS), (talk) 04:02, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was referring more towards the making of the song. Did she discuss it in an interview? Or reveal the inspiration behind the song? Just to be clear, this was just a friendly suggestion to help make the article stronger, not a requirement for GA. Giacobbe talk 17:42, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Writing and composition[edit]

  • I'd suggest taking the first line of the second paragraph and merging it with the first paragraph. Then I'd take the third paragraph and merge it with the second.
  •  Done
  • "The song's lyrics are about Swift's efforts to run away from a relationship for someone else, but she soon realizes that this new relationship will also end."
  • "The song's lyrics are about Swift's efforts to run away from a relationship to be with someone else, only to realize that this new relationship will also end."
  •  Done
  • "Pitchfork's Jamieson Cox said that the song specifically sounds like a throwback to "Out of the Woods", a song on 1989 that was also produced by Antonoff."
  • If Cox mentioned any reasons for the similarity (lyrics, production, themes, etc), I'd add it in here to give the reader a better understanding of why they are similar.
  • The sentence sounds a little wordy. I'd go with something slightly more concise (i.e. "Pitchfork's Jamieson Cox compared the song to "Out of the Woods" (2016) from her fifth studio album, 1989 (2014).")
  • Reworded; he did not explain in-depth, but did say that the production sounded similar
  • "in shades of gray..." should be capital "In".
  •  Done
  • "jet-set, Bonnie and Clyde,"
  • The comma needs to be removed.
  • I think the comma is exact in the lyrics
  • "until she abandons him for a new man. This part references the criminal couple Bonnie and Clyde."
  • Change to "until she abandons him for a new man, referencing the criminal couple Bonnie and Clyde."
  •  Done

Critical reception[edit]

  • Looks good!

Release and commercial performance[edit]

  • No issues here.

References[edit]

  • Refs 2 and and 21 both link Rolling Stone. Only needs to be linked in Ref 2.
  • Refs 3 and 24 have the same issue.
  • Refs 23 and 27 have the same issue.
  • I follow the guideline at WP:OVERLINK which says that re-linking publications in ref parameters is not an issue--I have been doing this for other articles as well, (talk) 04:02, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Overall[edit]

  • Try to expand the article if you can. I understand that it may be difficult seeing as it was such a limited release.
  • Everything else looks good, friend! Great work.
  • I've placed the article on hold until these changes have been addressed. Giacobbe talk 20:38, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
