Is his name "Gerald Barnard Balding" or "Gerald Matthews Balding"? His NY Times obit. gives the latter- https://www.nytimes.com/1957/09/17/archives/gerald-balding-polo-star-dead-exchampionship-player-was-trainer-for.html "Gerald Matthews Balding" also appears in the London Gazette and in his son's entry in Debrett's People of Today 2006.
