George E. Middleton from California[edit]

Note that the Internet Movie Database link to George Middleton mixes up some of the New Jersey man's work with that of a certain George E. Middleton of San Francisco, California. George E. Middleton was the son of a 19th century Northern California lumber pioneer. He took his inherited wealth and became an automobile dealer just before the quake of 1906 but also made feature films with his wife Beatriz Michelena throughout 1914-1920. This particular Middleton stepped into various roles in the films he funded: he was sometimes producer, director and he wrote some of the treatments. At any rate, the IMDb web page makes a mess of the two men's work. Don't attribute to the New Jersey-born playwright George Middleton anything it says he directed, produced or was miscellaneous crew on from 1914 to 1920. Only trust the section saying George Middleton was a screenwriter from 1917 to 1953, and anything that took place after 1921. Binksternet (talk) 01:37, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That was relatively quick! IMDb has split their mixup into three different George Middletons. It appears accurate to me in my limited knowledge. Binksternet (talk) 23:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
