Examples of real-world use?[edit]

As a putative member of Generation V, I've never come across the term before. Can anyone cite some actual examples of use? As it stands, the article text seems more boosterish than encyclopedic. - Anirvan 08:35, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HI there, I came across this page today when working on the wikifying backlog and found your comment when also looking to see if this was a neolgism that didn't warrant an article.
Generation V does appear to have some currency in the sense detailed in this article; primarily by virtue (!) of Virtual High School: Teaching Generation V. Whether or not this is sufficient to establish the notability of the usage is another matter.... - Politepunk 15:39, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It seems quite similar to the Generation Y article. Also, the "Notable example" section seemed to be pretty much an advertisement for Last.fm, though I cleaned that up a bit. It seems entirely possible that "Generation V" came out of a boardroom somewhere. I'm going to keep an eye on this... -- Colm O'Brien 20:37, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well I certainly haven't heard this term in common usage, so I think it has little notability. Sounds like a neologism to me.Anthonzi (talk) 18:40, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like Gartner coined the term: [1] 155.56.68.220 (talk) 10:38, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

I just wanted to make one final announcement before merging this over to Generation Z. I think perhaps this article could be improved if the name becomes more notable later on, but until then it is best used as a redirect to Gen Z. If anyone has any comments now is the time to make them %%-SYKKO-%% (talk to me) 21:07, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
