Comment from Mosterbur[edit]

This is a good start to your draft but considerably more contribution to the page are needed to meet your first benchmark. Keep up the good work and expand your page. Mosterbur (talk) 15:41, 20 October 2018 (UTC)Mosterbur[reply]

Article Review from JGardyne32[edit]

I really like what you have edited so far! I think this is a really interesting topic, and one that I know very little about. Since I know so little I feel my view is a good way to see how someone else in my shoes would view this page. With that being said, I would try to lower the vocabulary just a little. I feel that most of the language is easily understood, but I found myself reading and needing to go back and read it over to get a better understanding of what you wrote. That could also just be me needing to read more analytically. For instance, you have transgenic linked to another wiki page but I feel it would be more beneficial to incorporate the definition or just an explanation. Similar to this I would also suggest explaining biotechnology a little more in depth. Another thing I would maybe look into elaborating on would be how science came to the Gene Revolution. What came before it in history and how it was developed or discovered if you will. You mentioned how it was an "off shoot of Green Revolution" I would possibly talk briefly about that and how the Gene Revolution was a possible advance in Science. Along with this I would possibly add why it was needed in society, what led to the advance. One last thing I would possibly incorporate would be who helped with this advance. I realize this was a blank tab so you must have much more information to share, and I can not wait to see where you take this!

Additional sources about the effect of the Gene Revolution on agricultural economies[edit]

Currently the article doesn't include much discussion of the role of Gene Revolution in disrupting agricultural economies by transforming farmer's economic relationships to their crops (particularly, how they obtain seeds and what they are able/allowed to plant). Here are some sources I found on Google Scholar that could help flesh out this aspect of the topic.

Content already substantially covered by existing articles[edit]

Genetically modified crops and several related existing articles cover the application of genetic engineering to agriculture, so this article is Wikipedia:Content forking, which should typically be avoided. The sourcing that applies the term 'Gene Revolution' to these technologies are rather thin, and the term reads as something of a neologism. To avoid duplicating content, this article should either be merged into existing articles or reduced to a brief summary of how the term 'gene revolution' is used, with content on the applications of gene editing left to other articles.Dialectric (talk) 04:11, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with everything posted above. AIRcorn (talk) 16:32, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Fortgot about this. We could possibly have an artcile on the term, but hi is not that article. AIRcorn (talk) 01:55, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. This has not improved. I have no problem stubbing it and redirecting it unless someone else wants to take the initiative to make this less of a content fork.Dialectric (talk) 02:22, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

quick comment[edit]

The lead section of the piece seems to be written in an non-informational tone, suggestion to its revision of tone would assist this article. Using more in-depth research for domain knowledge would help this issue, the links listed above would be a great place to start. Rubyputt (talk) 01:36, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
