So the high and low strings are three octaves apart, rather than two as in the common tuning? —Tamfang (talk) 22:55, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

the standard tuning is identical to putting a capo on the 4th fret on a regular guitar: G#-D#-B-F#-C#-G#

Terz guitar

The instrument described here is a modern version of the terz guitar, which has existed since the Baroque period.
