I come into this as a newbie on the sport of skateboarding. Correct me if I am wrong. What I find is she (the proponent of AfDing WP:BEFORE didn't look far enough to correctly determine her gender) is a skateboarder on the Dew Tour which is as close to the top level of that sport as there appears to be (though the tour appears to be in financial trouble). There is no skateboarding or extreme sports criteria in WP:NSPORT. She's not on the top of the tour but two sixth places in a row and a world #8 ranking shows she's a contender (with a habit of doing well in the qualifying round). Another article I read says she's one of the top female skateboarders in Japan and at age 16, one of the oldest. The article was talking about one of her younger competitors looking up at Funa. Behind USA, Brazil, Australia, possibly France and Netherlands, Japan is one of the top countries skateboarding in the world. I've found pictures of her participating (indoors) at the Japan Open in February 2019. Can't find results of it at all, but that would be a statement on how she does domestically. That is important because Japan is hosting the Olympics next year. If you salt her name away now, it will make it significantly more difficult to get her back in mainspace if she qualifies. You'd think that wouldn't be a problem but I have just had to fight that kind of battle with this proponent over that same issue regarding two athletes qualified for world championships this year. Thats why I'm here, trying to bring some sense to the destructive nature of AfD. Trackinfo (talk) 03:39, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Keep - I agree, as well. Thank you for the additional info you added to her page. She is in the top 10 in the world at age 16, very notable IMO --Wil540 art (talk) 15:49, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
