Library access - or law books?[edit]

Montanabw, Notecardforfree - are there any lawbooks or articles that you may be aware of that we can add to this article? Atsme Talk 📧 16:55, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Since the AfD's over now, I've ordered a copy of Kooks on Amazon. Hopefully it'll provide us with some more information for the article. SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 19:01, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Possible entry for 'In popular media'?[edit]

I found this article because I was listening to the song 'americanized' by Venetian Snares on his 'infolepsy ep', in which Francis E. Dec's speeches were chopped up and used to convey some sort of chaotic and unpredictable vibe. Could I use this song to make an 'in popular media' section at the bottom of this page, like I've seen under other Wikipedia pages, or would this fall too far outside of the topic? (sorry, I'm still quite new to editing Wikipedia articles)

"Outsider writer" or paranoid schizophrenic?[edit]

It's probably worth noting that this guy is possibly one of the most infamous batshit insane OG shitposters. This isn't outsider art, or slam poetry, this is deranged ravings. The likes of which we weren't familiar with prior to the advent of the internet bringing crazies en masse to talk about flat earth and other nonsense. 2001:8003:2961:AD00:1529:74F0:B9CC:C026 (talk) 02:59, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The two are not mutually exclusive. Dec can both be an outsider writer (and a distinct and iconic one at that), and (almost certainly, though never formally diagnosed) a paranoid schizophrenic. Others, including at the Dec Fanclub, have pointed to Dec being an example of this: On the Origin of the "Influencing Machine" in Schizophrenia. It could be pointed out in the text that zer0 of the Fanclub has described Dec that way, drawing that connection. Beyond that, it's tricky to describe Dec's mental illness unless good sources appear, as Wikipedia has very little room for anything in the absence of it being sourced. --JoelKP (talk) 14:26, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
