Problems with the article[edit]

There is no reason why the significant contributions of Greek Americans to American culture should not be detailed at our main article on Greek Americans. Furthermore, the name is badly chosen. There might be Greek Americans who made significant contributions to American culture but are not famous, and there might be Greek Americans who are famous without making significant contributions to American culture. The article is also a hodge-podge collection which includes fictional Greek Americans, Greek Canadians, and other items that should not come under the scope of "famous Greek Americans". Finally, it is also completely unsourced, and reliable sources would be required to establish the notability of the subject. For these reasons, I believe a redirect to List of Greek Americans serves us better than this article. Huon (talk) 18:22, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article will be under constant expansion with more details of the contributions for each person listed. A redirect does not serve better that his article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sandy145 (talkcontribs) 08:55, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This does not address any of the issues I listed. Is there a specific reason why we need another article besides Greek American and the List of Greek Americans? What about the badly chosen title, which does not correspond to what the article is supposed to be about? What about the entries which no strech of the imagination can put under "famous Greek Americans", either taken literally or by the "significant contributions to American culture" definition? How about reliable sources? Huon (talk) 11:23, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it addresses the issues that I listed. So rather than wasting your entire day in front of a computer hanging around Wikipedia, why don't you go out and get a real job and make something of yourself. You spend way too much time online. That's pathetic.

This article will gradually be expanded. Stop messing around with it for no real reason except that you have way too much free time on your hands and nothing of real substance to say. Get a job. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sandy145 (talkcontribs) 17:32, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't provide reliable sources which provide significant coverage of the subject of Greek American contributions to American culture, that may not be notable enough for a stand-alone Wikipedia article. Until you can do so, it should remain a redirect. Huon (talk) 18:38, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
