Environmental vegetarianism is very close in subject, but much more complete and well-based. I think this page should become a redirect of sorts, what do you people think?

The environmental vegetarianism article is more complete and NPOV. This article should be redirected there. - Francis Tyers · 11:37, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I say AYE. Have you seen anything in this article that isn't in the other? Alangdon86 16:57, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comparison of food[edit]

Are there any ideas/links about a possible Top Ten list of meat and dairy products? So people could easily see what meat/product is the 'worst' in terms of resource, energy and space consumption. I've read that chicken meat is the most efficient type around at the moment. According to zeit.de 1.6pounds of grain is converted to 1 pound of chicken meat. Chickens don't release as much (or rather, at all) methane as ruminant animals (eg, cows) do. On a side note, chicken meat is easily digestible even by children, easy to prepare and highly efficient for bodybuilding. Even if we can't convert everybody to a vega(taria)n diet, at least we can try to limit the environmental impact that meat production has by sticking to the least harmful 'meat producers'.
