Can Somebody
[edit]Can Somebody Please Send Me The Original Isola In The Rain? Send To [email protected] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.180.107.226 (talk) 18:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
18v
[edit]Is there any way to forward "18V" to this page? --Stonesour025 01:35, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Just set up the redirector for 18V.
Someone needs to do a better History of this band. After all the changes i made and the albums i did, it seems the history looks too small. Anyone willing to work with me on one? I did the one from As Friends Rust, if you want to check out what ive done.
- I agree, just in looking at their video for "Victim" you can see that most, if not all the members are Straight Edge. That, in and of itself, needs more explanation & detail. --HatchetFaceBuick 22:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
genre
[edit]to set things straight, let's get their genre fixed. i agree with hard rock, punk rock, hardcore, metalcore etc...but we can also add post-grunge. their music has some serious grunge influence. also gothic rock may be apropriate, since even they refer to themselves as gothic. Itachi1452 01:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
im not sure where youve heard that.. i dont think they consider themselves grunge or gothic, they simply state there straight edge in interviews. again this is not an opinion we have to put down. we have to state the facts. so what does the band consider them selfs, and not the fans.
- trying to figure out what genre bands fit into has become problematic in that people are labeling music according to their look/lifestyle (and the bands'). it is not uncommon anymore (IMO) to hear people say, "i am gothic and i like this band, and other people who are gothic ALSO like this band & the music, therefore, this band must be gothic." the problem is that other people that live other lifestyles might correlate themselves to a band just as well...hence the issue of, "no, 18 Visions is grunge...no, they are hardcore, no...etc." personally, they don't look like the SE kids i am used to...but i like them anyway. =^) --HatchetFaceBuick 16:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
i heard the gothic part from their myspace. they call themselves rock/gothic/alternative. and yeah, you can't judge a band's genre by what you are. i met a guy who listened to black eyed peas, iron maiden, and johnny cash. Itachi1452 23:00, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
haha.i listen to black metal, but my favorite bands are faith no more, as friends rust, and limp bizkit. and i very much enjoy hip hop such as dialek, yet i can enjoy this band, being a metal head.. so it really has nothing to do with idiots dressing up in vinyl pants with liberty spikes...
whatever the genre, it's sure as hell not hardcore punk. i think that an emo/alt rock genre would be emore befitting. - anon(ish) user March 31 2007
I am a diehard 18V fan, THEY ARE NOT EMO OR GOTHIC OR STRAIGHT EDGE, Ken Floyd is Straight Edge, James Hart is Gothic. They are a Post-Hardcore/Post-Grunge/Metalcore/Punk Rock band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fordzii (talk • contribs) 03:08, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
James Hart isn't gothic, he is a metalhead, mick morris is gothic/sxe. trevor baby is gothic. anyway about the genre: they sound a lot like papa roach and papa roach our alt. metal, on the bands myspace they say that they are rock/gothic/alternative, they could have easily meant alt. metal, they are not post-grunge and never had anything to do with grunge music, they are not emo, but soem of their music might be relevant, yes i agree with metalcore, and as for post-hardcore, they were hardcore and never left that genre, but were never post-hardcore. Somebody just claimed them to be punk metal which is 100% incorect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.180.107.226 (talk) 18:11, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
history
[edit]Okay, lets set the record straight--18 v cannot be post hardcore because when they appeared in 1999, hardcore punk was not that old, it was probably 5 years old and was still mainstream. And on their website and some cd's it says Hardcore, not post hardcore, so there's my proof. Thanks-
- -looks incredulously at you- Hardcore punk was 5 years old in 1999? This would be news indeed to the hundreds, if not thousands of bands playing hardcore punk in the 80s. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 17:07, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
nope, not hardcore punk. their old stuff was more hardcore than that. then they became all post-hardcore. AMG calls them alt metal, post-hardcore, and thrash. i'm not sure about thrash, but we could always work post grunge, hard rock, or punk rock in as well. Itachi1452 00:24, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- wow... that idiotic user actually signed my name at the end of his ridiculous post... i will quote my ORIGINAL message, which was a responce to his statement
- "im not sure where youve heard that.. i dont think they consider themselves grunge or gothic, they simply state there straight edge in interviews. again this is not an opinion we have to put down. we have to state the facts. so what does the band consider them selfs, and not the fans."
- im really insulted.....-HDS
Song Intros From Movies
[edit]I made a list of the songs from the albums which we are missing where the movies quotes are from.
From: No Time For Love
- Diana Gone Wrong
- Isola In The Rain (outro)
From: Lifeless
- Sacreligious Murder
UK?
[edit]Um.. I'm pretty sure all of the guys are from Orange County, or at least somewhere close. Why does it say Tamworth, UK? I would change it, but I don't know where to cite.
its just some dumbass spamming the page. i gave up with fixing the genres a long time ago. so im not editing anything anymore... hopefully other ppl can keep it up. -HDS
Breakup
[edit]I'm pretty sure that's a fake Myspace bulletin - that's really the only source right now, and that site is definitely not credible. Stonesour025 02:21, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I'm pretty sure they haven’t broke up considering I think they were the supporting act for Bullet for my Valentine on their Australian tour. Welshy1791 03:16, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
