"The games are usually played to a sell-out crowd, with Hearts averaging a slightly larger number of supporters in these games."

This could be better written. Seems to imply that Hearts always have more fans at derby games which is utter b/s.

  • I have tried to re-write this, reflecting the fact that Tynecastle generally had a higher capacity for most of the last 20 years. This is no longer the case, as Easter Road now has a slightly higher capacity. It could also be argued that Hearts' higher attendance in the games was also partly due to Hearts fans "boycotting" Easter Road in some games 5-6 years ago due to high ticket prices. 212.113.23.124 12:54, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • On reflection, perhaps it is better without reference to attendance in the article? There isn't a reference to this in the Old Firm page, so I don't see why it is necessary here. The original entry smells of one-upmanship, rather than adding to knowledge. 212.113.23.124 11:38, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent games list

[edit]

If there is nothing notable about recent games then I propose that I create a full game list in the same style, as seen on the Merseyside and Clasico pages, to name a few.ExcelExcel (talk) 16:22, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A full list would be excessive, given the sheer number of derbies played. WP:NOTSTATS. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 16:24, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am not suggesting minor games such as East of Scotland league or friendlies played in the early 1900s, just competitive games. Other pages with a near-amount of games have been created. If this is unreasonable, perhaps a list of games since the inception of the SPL? 137.195.56.25 (talk) 14:33, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, the 'notable games' list is open to interpretation and takes up more space than full list would due to the notes section.

I suggest putting across 2-3 columns which would make it about half the length that is at present. I have uploaded 268 league fixtures to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wien_derby which is about the same amount of fixtures as Edinburgh. I managed to fit season, date, home team, score and attendance across 3 columns. Xenomorph1984 (talk) 21:44, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
