Motor racing

[edit]

Anyone fancy expanding the motor racing aspect of her life? As well as the passing ref. to Tim Birkin, she was part of the core scene at Brooklands, friend and backer of Malcolm Campbell etc. This deserves to be included. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:51, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Weight gain

[edit]

I understand that in later life she became seriously obese (to the point of no longer fitting into her favourite cars), leading eventually to her early death from heart trouble. It's ref'ed briefly in 'The Fast Set' , but I'd like more detail before I add anything. Andy Dingley (talk)

Green

[edit]

In the article it is stated that none of her staff wore green because this was a colour she despised. Because I have been informed that she was considered very superstitious should this not read "unlucky".

Also she was repulsed by men. She even claimed that they made her physically ill. The only man around the house was a mister Hall, the gardener, he was colloquially known as "the eunuch". JHvW 09:56, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
