Figures from the World Fact Book need to be updated to reflect those at https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/je.html Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:18, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page name

[edit]

I propose that this page is moved to Demography of Jersey. This is in line with best practice on other British-related articles, such as Demography of the United Kingdom, Demography of Northern Ireland. Wikipedia:WikiProject_UK_geography/How_to_write_about_settlements recomments the use of the term "Demography", which is used in articles about Jersey's parishes.

This is in line with the outcome of the 2014 discussion of the Topic found here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_UK_geography/Archive_16#"Demography"_being_changed_to_"Demographics"_as_a_section_heading in which the consesus was that the proper British English (which should be used for all Jersey-related articles) term is "Demography of X".

If I receive no other comments on this, I will conduct the move on or after 17 March 2021. If there is a proper procedure I am missing, please inform me.

Orphaned references in Demographics of Jersey

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Demographics of Jersey's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "census":

  • From Demographics of Belarus: Ethnic composition of the population Archived February 7, 2009, at the Wayback Machine, 1999 Belarus Census.
  • From Demographics of Malta: "Census in Malta". Archived from the original on 13 November 2014.
  • From Demographics of Ukraine: Population census 2001: Population by nationality Archived 15 March 2007 at the Wayback Machine
  • From Demographics of Estonia: "PHC2011 - History of Population Censuses in Estonia". stat.ee.
  • From Romania: Official site of the results of the 2002 Census (Report) (in Romanian). Archived from the original on 5 February 2012. Retrieved 31 August 2008.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 16:23, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
