Manual of Style non-compliance issues[edit]

The following points need to be addressed, as my attempts to improve the article were promptly reverted.

  1. As per the guidelines at WP:OVERLINK, it is rarely necessary to link to well-known country names such as Japan.
  2. The article subject's name as it is presented in official English-language sources is written without a macron.
  3. The subject's place of birth is Shimokawa, Hokkaido. As Shimokawa is a small town, I doubt even many Japanese people would know where it was without indicating the prefecture (Hokkaido).
  4. The prefecture is normally rendered as Hokkaido (without a macron) in English-language documentation.
  5. Writing [[ski jumping|ski jumper]] goes against the guidelines at WP:NOPIPEDLINK.
  6. The fancy table formatting may look pretty to its creator, but using the default formatting (for cell widths and background colours) maximizes accessibility for the benefit of people using different size screens and also those with impaired sight. --DAJF (talk) 14:45, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
