Class

[edit]

Its content is probably OK for B class. However, with the spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes, typos (RMSC?) A B-class would be inappropriate. Nevermind a lot of the things make little sense: "The first tropical cyclone to form in the RMSC's area of responsibility during the 2003-04 Southern Hemisphere tropical cyclone season for the South Pacific Ocean,", umm what? Which RSMC?--Nilfanion (talk) 16:17, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are also factual errors. RSMC Nadi is real, however there is no RSMC NZ, its a TCWC.--Nilfanion (talk) 16:33, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's RSMC? RaNdOm26 09:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A Regional Specialized Meteorological Center, they are the WMO designated forecast organisations. There are six: RSMC Miami (NHC), RSMC Honolulu (CPHC), RSMC Tokyo (JMA), RSMC Nadi (Fiji), RSMC Reunion (Meteo France) and RSMC New Delhi (India). Unexplained acronyms are bad in an article (never mind incorrect acronyms).--Nilfanion (talk) 09:32, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I fixed the errors. Storm05 19:35, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Content-wise, this is a moderately high start, nearly B. However, in order to be B-class, this article needs an extensive copyedit. There are a great deal of spelling and grammatical errors ("RMSC", for instance), as well as errors such as "$1,000 dollars" (which reads as "one thousand dollars dollars"). Also, the subheading under impact should probably be removed, since it covers those areas and nowhere else. Storm history should be three paragraphs, and it also jumps from reaching Category 2 strength right to Category 5, with no mention of what happened during that time (did it intensify rapidly? Slowly?). You should also get someone to make a track map. --Coredesat 07:18, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now its at B-Class, good job with the copyediting everyone. Just a little more info might make this GA worthy. Storm05 14:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone see the contradiction? IN the impact section, first there are two fatalities (beginning), then there are none (end). I don't know which one is right.
