Fork-lifts[edit]

Did this company have anything to do with Crown Fork-lifts? j/c - knoodelhed 20:36, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV violation?[edit]

"They were so well built that one of the factors that forced Crown to shut down was their product's extremely long life."

Somehow, I doubt that that's true. I'm going to ask for a citation to back it up.66.234.222.96 (talk) 06:34, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it probably COULD be re-worded a bit better, but I've always understood these buses as an argument against planned obsolesence. If they never needed outright replacement (outside of major accident damage), then eventually there would be no need to buy new ones. Crown had a fairly focused market compared to school bus manufacturers from the East Coast. SteveCof00 (talk) 10:50, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A long lived machine...[edit]

There is some truth to the longevity issue. One entity is currently running over 200 Crowns that are 30 years old. Think they might buy some more if they were available? Fabrico (talk) 15:55, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History section[edit]

I'm a little surprised that the history section makes no mention of what happened to the Crown brand name after Crown went out of business (see Carpenter Body Company). There really ought to be some mention of it. –BMRR (talk) 13:57, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You mean how Carpenter illegally used the name? Yep. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1004:B00F:5048:54E5:71FD:8830:92A5 (talk) 01:28, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Crown Firecoach content[edit]

At this point, there is probably enough content to begin a stand-alone article on the Crown fire trucks, as has happened with the Crown buses; in the end, this can allow for a major cleanup of the article in the future. --SteveCof00My Suggestion box is open 07:15, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
