Merge?

[edit]

Don't know if anyone is watching this article, but it's not likely to become more than a stub, in my view. Thought it could be merged into Bristol Channel recreation, but there's nothing about diving. Any other suggestions? Tony Holkham (Talk) 16:25, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really notable eough to warrant a mention, never mind its own article? The only source quoted merely verifies it's position and size. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:42, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Follow up to self, can't find a record of the first ship mentioned but the Prince Cadwgan sank off Carreg Fran, several miles to the north and west. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:53, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is some potential for expansion here. A Coflein search, "Crow Rock", has records for Tormes (NPRN 273091) and numerous other shipwrecks associated with Crow Rock (but record for Prince Cadwgan indicates a different crow rock). EdwardUK (talk) 17:25, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I could redirect it to Stackpole and Castlemartin as it is only just offshore. Tony Holkham (Talk) 17:47, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm struggling with the Coflein site, very difficult to identify the individual items on the map. Tony Holkham (Talk) 18:47, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at all 25 Coflein refs, and in only one case (Prince Cadwgan) is the wreck site identified. I therefore think this aspect is a non-starter, and a merge is still the best option. The question is merge to where? Tony Holkham (Talk) 19:51, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Correction, there is one other identified wreck, Balholm. Tony Holkham (Talk) 19:54, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Prince Cadwgan is a different location - coflein gridref and map shows it to be 'Carreg-Frân' (translates roughly as 'Crow Rock' in Welsh). This map: [1] shows it is located near Ramsey Sound and half-tide rock (both mentioned in the coflein description) and a newspaper report [2] has it sailing from Solva further to the east.
