Do Some Better Work

[edit]

What's with this "tribal sounds of ancient Scotland"? Pipes didn't reach Scotland until ***after*** William Wallace's time in the early 1300s ... so when were Scots making this ancient/tribal music with Highland pipes?!?!? This article is a stub and contains gross assumption. ManOnPipes (talk) 02:39, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article is refering to the sound and feeling the band is trying to create, not the historical accuracy of instruments vs. time periods. There are a lot of bands that play "traditional" music with synthesizers and amplifiers, neither of which are really historically accurate prior to the 20th century. The article is definitely a stub (as the tag states) so... if you don't like it as it stands why don't you fix it yourself instead of whining? A contribution is better than a condemnation any day. 75.210.63.200 (talk) 04:17, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I found the "tribal" thing a bit confusing too at first glance, as there is nothing particularly prehistoric about the music or the instrumentation. It might be a good idea to explain within the article what the term means in this context, or link to another article which deals specifically with the concept. I have neither the time nor the knowledge, but perhaps someone else could do it? Jonas Liljeström (talk) 21:33, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
