Howdy. I suggest a quid pro quo; I review this article (which has been on the backlog for a while) and in return (because you always return the favorthx btw), can give your opinion on the peer review of Super Mario Bros. 35. Luckily, it's just as short as this one. I'll have comments soon! Le Panini Talk 11:30, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Me already reviewing this is implying that you now have to do the peer review. You don't. I don't mind. Really!

The six good article criteria
  • Well written:

You know the drill. Suggestions below.

  • Verifiable with no original research:

I have an issue with Japanese sources, which I explain further down.

  • Broad in its coverage:

All good here.

  • Neutral:

All good here.

  • Stable:

All good here.

  • Illustrated:

All good here.

Infobox
  • The image should specify what is in the flyer in the alt = portion
Lead
  • I'd suggest rephrasing the first two sentences if it is known as different things in Japan and NA. Maybe City Connection, known as Cruisin' in North America, is a 1985 platform arcade game developed and published by Jaleco. Alternatively, Cruisn' was developed and released by Kitkorp. Kitkorp getting the licencing right should also be explained, as it explains why two versions were developed.
  • I would also summarize the legacy section a bit more here. What is the game known for?
Gameplay
  • "By collecting oil cans, the player can launch these..." reads pretty choppy to me. Maybe "Clarice can collect and launch oil cans..."
  • "a bonus points." Either "bonus points" or "a bonus point". I don't know the context.
Development and release
  • I'm checking to make sure; is it ever actually specified by the developers that the car is a Honda City hatchback, or is it just assumed to be?
  • If not, that makes "...which is believed to be the source for the game's title" purely trivial, unless Nintendo Life isn't the only source suggesting this.
Reception
  • "IGN and Nintendo Life reviewers Lucas M. Thomas and Marcel van Duyn..." there should be a "respectively" after this to specify who is for what.
  • Generally, there could be more summarizing in "The NES version, in particular, is viewed as a classic title on the system for its accurate portrayal of the arcade original" is a pretty bold claim, but according to references only one source says so. This source is Yuge, which takes up the second half of this paragraph, so these sentences can be merged.
  • Additionally, it seems that second paragraph lists out what every reviewer thought. It kind of reads like "A said B", and should be rephrased to be something like "ABC said X, and AC said X" to merge similar criticism.
Legacy

"She appears as a playable character in the PlayStation game GUNbare! Game Tengoku (1998), misspelled as "Claris" and bearing little resemblance to her original design," Maybe add an although

  • Link downloadable content (DLC)
References
  • Some of the Japanese sources have translated titles, but most do not. They should be translated.

Verdict

As usual, simple changes, reception is my only main issue. As such, I'll put this article On Hold for you to make changes. It shouldn't take long! Might I add why this article was demoted before? I'll make some changes to my review to see if the reasons why are now met. Le Panini Talk 13:11, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Namcokid47: The review is closing in to its seventh day. Do you still plan on finishing the review? Le Panini [🥪] 02:43, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I did not receive any kind of notification that you even reviewed this, or that it was about to close. That's so strange. I'll try to get this done in a day or so. Namcokid47 (Contribs) 02:50, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Namcokid47, You've been having this issue a lot lately, huh? Legobot sends a message to your talk page, so you should monitor you watchlist more often. If you were unaware, no worries, I'll stick around for pending changes. Le Panini [🥪] 03:05, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Due to nominator inactivity, I'm going to have to Fail this nomination. It's close, in my opinion. Le Panini [🥪] 04:35, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
