New Jersey paragraph too editorialized

[edit]

This one:

"According to a February 2018 editorial in The Star-Ledger, Cerf closed the worst schools, fired the worst principals,e and used a new contract to pay the best teachers more. By the end of his tenure as superintendent, the graduation rate had risen to 77 percent, a 20 percent increase.[30] He was able to improve student's results in state standardized tests and increase the graduation rate while maintaining a balanced budget.[31] Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Cerf were able to end the pugnacious relationship between the city's leaders and state's Department of Education.[32]" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.148.202.98 (talk) 21:34, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please add the following line to the section named New York City schools, right after the first line that ends with "...took no disciplinary action."
In September 2009, Cerf left his post as deputy chancellor to join Mayor Bloomberg's re-election campaign as an education policy adviser.[1]
In February 2014, Cerf announced that he would be leaving his post as Commissioner of Education at the end of the month to become chief executive of Amplify Insight, a division of Amplify.[2][3]

Note that the additions are intended to bridge gaps in the narrative. --- Coffeeandcrumbs 05:08, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Archive historic chat?

[edit]

This talkpage is a real confused mess, there is no clear timeline, if there is chance to move forward it might be better to archive this and start again from a fresh position? Govindaharihari (talk) 18:46, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Govindaharihari: I think it is too soon for that. I have setup automated archiving at the standard 31 days. That should be suffiecient. --- Coffeeandcrumbs 05:28, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks Govindaharihari (talk) 11:05, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
