Several character redirects still point to Undertale and Deltarune

[edit]

It would probably be worthwhile to click the What Links Here for those two and do a text search for anything marked redirect: A multitude of character redirects still point to them, rather than to here. Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:10, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of Deltarune

[edit]

I'm not sure Deltarune characters should be part of the list. The notability seems to be only on Undertale characters, and the sources only give significant coverage to Undertale characters, not Deltarune. Everything related to Deltarune is unsourced in the page. Skyshifter talk 02:13, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I definitely agree, but given that Deltarune is within the same scope as Undertale, it makes sense to include. I think it should be seen whether or not sources relating to the characters of Deltarune exist or not (For instance, a number of Deltarune characters attained some significant internet popularity, such as Spamton and Queen.) Searches by editors should likely be performed to ascertain the notability of these characters, even individually, before being removed. Pokelego999 (talk) 19:15, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Separate Articles

[edit]

Undertale and Deltarune should both merit separate articles because though similar, are still separate video games. Abigbagel (talk) 08:48, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Frisk

[edit]

While characters like Sans and Papyrus have their own articles, i'm not sure why Frisk doesn't. Given she is the main protagonist, she may not earn an article of her own, but still, i am not sure why she doesn't have an article but others do. Toby2023 (talk) 04:47, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • frisk's gender is determination not confirmed on purpose (as opposed to kris, who is explicitly lacking in the gender department)
  • as is, either no one bothered to try to create an article, or someone did try before, but coverage on them has not been significant enough to warrant an article. if you want to try it, you could go with the articles for creation process. just remember to read wp:your first article first
do keep in mind that there's a non-zero chance that, despite the game's popularity, frisk themself might still lack significant coverage (as defined by wikipedia, that is), and thus not be eligible for an article at the moment cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 12:10, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chara

[edit]

The entry for Chara includes a lot of fandom speculation and events not disclosed by the game itself, but presented as if it was. It should be completely rewritten and without attributing a personality. (and possibly even changed to "The Fallen Human" since "Chara" is never outright named by the game itself) 96.227.133.46 (talk) 02:12, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

indeed. "Chara" is just a name given to the human characters in the files as a placeholder cuz toby sucked at coding at the time I think. (idk).
That's likely the reason chara is labelled as "The True Name". within the name select, and it was the name used in demos.
or so I've heard idk. but the undertale fandom is dense, man. i GENUINELY believed spr_mysteryman was gaster for a while because of the fandom's association. also, they feel the need to link everything back to him. Dorked made a good YouTube video on the subject, specifically the True Lab. Check it out if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLkO3RIBaL4.
but i'm getting sidetracked so i'll leave it at that! 194.105.164.99 (talk) 12:34, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean spr_mysteryman is probably Gaster, it isn't confirmed though.
Chara is just short for character and it has nothing to do with Toby being bad at coding back then. Diamantinasaurus (talk) 12:08, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
