Miss or Mrs? Gardiner or Gardner?

[edit]

Can someone confirm whether the character is a Miss or a Mrs and the correct spelling of her name, and correct the article? Otto4711 (talk) 22:39, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Broadway grosses and ticket sales

[edit]

Today an IP editor added the phrase "despite the fact that the theatre was sold out every night" with reference to the Broadway production. I am asking for a reference for this statement (see WP:VERIFY and WP:RS). The broadwayworld data shows seats sold week 5/8/88=7,094; 5/15/88=5,951, for a total of 13,045 seats sold for 21 performances [Carrie data]. The Virginia Theatre has about 1222 seats; for 21 sold-out performances that should be about 25,662. There are many other factors, of course, when discussing the term "sold-out' which I hope some of the savvy theatre mavens will tell us about. (Grosses are harder to figure, since I do not know what tickets cost in 1988, nor do I know whether there were discounts.)JeanColumbia (talk) 15:27, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Today IP 63.87.217.5 removed my request for citation/verification with no edit summary and no citation. I have restored my request and left a note on the IP's talk page. (For reference, from WP:PROVEIT: "The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation.")
