Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro

[edit]

Lens Lens with 1.4× AF with 1.4× IS with 1.4× Lens with 2× AF with 2× IS with 2x 100 mm f/2.8L IS Macro USM 140 mm f/4 200 mm f/5.6

Wrong information, the Extender 1,4x II does can not be used together with the 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro lens.

Hi! I thought the extender can be used with all L series lenses... but as I have all the bits, I will check tonight. It certainly didn't work with the non-L series one. PS If you are sure, feel free to revert again. Stephen B Streater (talk) 17:59, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
i just did a search as I had my doubts on this one for a while, look here: http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/product/lenses/100_mm.do. click the lens specs tab, then look at bottom, it shows that the lens is "NC" which probably means "not compatible" with extenders. Also, it pretty easy to see from these two images: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/lens/ef/data/macro/diagram/ef_100_28l_macro_is_usm_bd.gif and: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/lens/ef/data/extender/diagram/ex_ef1_4xii_bd.gif. Here is an image of a lens that does work with extender, the 135mm f/2L: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/lens/ef/data/telephoto/diagram/ef_135_2l_usm_bd.gif. I cannot find any information that does state this lens works with extenders. Nebrot (talk) 15:35, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - it doesn't work and even says so in the Canon lens information too. It does work with the extension tubes though. Stephen B Streater (talk) 20:09, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
