I believe that it is inappropriate to delete comments regarding the inclusion of one vendor as a market player (especially when they are the market leader) only to ensure that the "players" section includes only a limited number of other players. Yes, I do work for Qlik. Thank you for noting that. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, I was very careful to ensure that my user name reflected this fact so that readers would be aware that the addition was from a Qlik employee. My addition to the article was simply to quote and reference work from Gartner - a leading analyst firm in the field of information technology. The piece quoted is their well respected annual positioning of the BI and Analytics market. This work is widely respected in the industry as evidenced by the fact that many - if not all - vendors who are called out within the leaders quadrant of the report make the report available for free from their own websites soon after publication each year. My original link to the article referenced the one from our website only because the article as it appears on the Gartner sight is fee based and ours is free. redirect to data mining

Previously and in the history log here "data discovery" was a Wikipedia article about an aspect of business intelligence. Later someone merged this content into that article and made data discovery a redirect to there.

I just made data discovery a redirect to data mining. Various sources already use data discovery and data mining as synonyms. Data discovery is broader, and for example can include discovering data through social interaction such as by talking with an archivist who has an offline data set.
