Name[edit]

I sent an email to the region to see what the official name in English is. Their reply, saying it was Burgundy, is available here. ChrisDHDR 18:06, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bourgogne is one of the regions of France, and seems to consist of the Departments of Cote d'Or, Nievre, Saone-et-Loire and Yonne. Burgundy, as far as I can tell, used to be a region of France, and distinguishes itself today from other regions by culture, history and economics (see the first sentence in the article). Since this article does not make clear how these two entities are the same, nor are even related, I suggest it is an error to redirect Bourgogne to Burgundy. We should assume two entities with two different names are not the same entity. 05:22, 30 December 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.172.153.122 (talk)
