Fair use rationale for Image:Brick Awards.png

[edit]

Image:Brick Awards.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This article reads more like a personal essay on the subject than an encyclopedia entry.

Clarification needed

[edit]

Currently, the first paragraph reads:

The BR!CK Awards is a televised award show recognizing young people who are changing the world. CNN dubbed it "the Oscars of youth service awards". [1] The Awards show debuted on The CW on April 12, 2007 and was produced by long-time MTV executive producer and director Alex Coletti. Since 1996, The BR!CK Awards have honored the nation’s finest young world-changers.[citation needed] Winners represent the best in their field or issue and are rewarded with a huge community grant and a special televised award ceremony.

As you can see, it says that the wards show was first televized in 2007. Then the paragraph goes on to say that the award has been in existence since 1996. Those two statements need to be tied in together better since the first sentence makes it appear that the award was created when it was also first televized. I've attempted to fix it the best I could - if you disagree, please comment.--RossF18 (talk) 19:53, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

The Brick Awards article by itself is merely a listing of award winners and adds nothing that isn't discussed on this talk page. Furthermore, the Brick Awards were renamed Do Something award anyway, so it makes since that the awards be a subsction on the Do Something page.--RossF18 (talk) 20:10, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The list should not be an excuse to list people who are otherwise WP:NN. I have removed them. Student7 (talk) 21:03, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
