Wow, what was once a minor article about a minor part of the Gettysburg Battlefield now earns the prize for the most ludicrously over-cited, over-annotated, and over-linked article in the entire American Civil War space. Was this done as a stunt or a joke, a contest to see how unreadable a brief article could be? I hate to revert so much work, but really... Any other comments? Comments on B-Class

[edit]

This is still a start class and requires a lot of work to get to a B. This is one of the most over-cited article I have seen and yet some of the pieces of information that should be cited such as the Civil War subsection paragraph. The article is missing information about Gettysburg on the first day and it would be nice to know the action or lack of action that occurred during the battle. The photo of troop movement needs to be moved because it conflicts with the contents box. --MOLEY (talk) 20:34, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

I have proposed that the Big Round Top Observation Tower Foundation Ruin article be merged here because this seems like a case of inherited notablility. Wild Wolf (talk) 16:32, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's better to merge together Big Round Top Observation Tower Foundation Ruin with Gettysburg Battlefield observation towers (recently deleted, contents at history) and Culp's Hill Observation Tower, since all of them share a common topic and there are lots of direct coverage for the towers. Diego (talk) 13:19, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, what would be the best name for the article? Wild Wolf (talk) 16:28, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There has been one comment on this proposal in ten days, suggesting a merger but he hasn't been back in that time. In the absence of any other comments, I will take it that there is no opposition to merging these two articles. Wild Wolf (talk) 15:25, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
