Zenderowski

[edit]

W. Zenderowski runs a private webpage on Barczewo [1]. I don't think this is a reliable source. HerkusMonte (talk) 13:23, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How does running a private webpage make him unreliable? We aren't using it anyway.Btw:could you answer about quotes from unknown person Irma Bartlick in the other article?--MyMoloboaccount (talk) 13:39, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He has an article on pl wiki (pl:Wojciech Zenderowski). No major red flags as I can see. Amateur/local historian publishing in regional publication, nothing cited to him seems extraordinary/fringe, through I NPOVed the tone of the sentence. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:56, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Should only be used if attributed (which it is presently) - and even then borderline. A better source (e.g. an English language history book) on such a contentious topic should be preferred.Icewhiz (talk) 04:17, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why are Poles seperated from main history

[edit]

Why is Polish majority which formed the integral history of the city moved into separate place from main history? This goes against normal format of articles. --MyMoloboaccount (talk) 13:40, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because the article needs some structure, a subsection focusing on a certain aspect of history improves the readability. HerkusMonte (talk) 08:15, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs a subsection because it needs a subsection? You haven't presented any reason why Poles who constituted majority of the population should be separated in any way from the history of this Polish city.--MyMoloboaccount (talk) 07:43, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An article needs some structure to improve the readability. Large sections of text are extremely tedious. HerkusMonte (talk) 08:00, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article doesn't need any additional structure as it is quite readable. You haven't presented any arguments why Polish population should be separated from the main history of this Polish city. As such I will restore the readable version.--MyMoloboaccount (talk) 08:03, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It took a few years, but I merged this into a single section. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:56, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious text

[edit]

Text such as "eventually both Poles and Jews were classified as subhuman and targeted for extermination " - besides contradicting most or all Holocaust scholars (who generally see some differences between Nazi atrocities towards Poles and Jews) is cited to the town's webpage which is not a RS for WWII history, and per my reading does not contain this very unusual "fact".Icewhiz (talk) 04:05, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Piotrus: - as you last restored this text, I'd appreciate if you could address this. Icewhiz (talk) 07:22, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Poor generalization, removed. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:07, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Garbage

[edit]

"In Polish the town was known historically as Wartembork, Wartenberg, Wartenbergk, Wathberg, Bartenburg, Warperc, Wasperc, Wartbór or Wartbórz." Totally irrelevant, as this county was never ever in history ethnically Polish. You might as well list the name of the district in Russian and Lithuanian too. Or why stop there? Just another Polish propaganda page of fantasy history seen through their eyes only. Wikipedia is awash with Poles rewriting fiction about the territories belonging to others which they now occupy courtesy of communism. 2A00:23C4:B617:7D01:41FB:B2DD:3778:9528 (talk) 15:30, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
