Redirect target[edit]

I'm somewhat puzzled by this edit changing the target from Lake Chagan to Chagan (nuclear test). According to the (current) target article, Atomic Lake is another name for Lake Chagan. [1]

Moe Epsilon, I see you're still contributing, can you remember the rationale for the change? The edit summary you gave was (dr). Does that refer to wp:dr, and if so, where is the discussion? We should link to it from here. Andrewa (talk) 23:41, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Andrewa: The edit I made was from 2006, now thirteen years ago and hundreds of thousands of contributions ago (so I obviously don't remember off the top of my head). I'm looking at the edit and I don't believe it had anything to do with dispute resolution. I believe it had to do with a double redirect. I'm looking through the history of the article and both articles were very short articles with mostly the same content and I see a few edit summaries mentioning a proposed merger. Based on that, I'm assuming someone else merged the articles, there was a double redirect I fixed, and then some point in the future they became separate articles again leaving behind the redirect to not be fixed. — Moe Epsilon 00:08, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! That explains everything. I have redirected to the detailed article. [2] I didn't want to do that without consulting you first. Andrewa (talk) 04:26, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem :) — Moe Epsilon 06:21, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
